It was absolutely great.
This movie made me angry, sad and at some point I wanted tho leave the theater,
but it was great.
Sometimes history does not seem real.
It's crazy to think that black people were ever slaves, segregation was ever a thing and that white people were that cruel to black people.
But this movie like many others brings back the reality of American history.
Ava DuVernay did a wonderful job at directing.
The movie was beautifully done and had so much emotion.
The cast was also amazing.
I'm sure some people feel bitter, but I am glad that she cut more than half of her cast members. which included actors like Lenny Kravitz and Cedric The Entertainer, because it made the movie feel more real.
For movies like Selma, actors who are truly good and not just well known need these roles.
All I am saying is that Lenny was not going to convince me.
Writer of the film Paul Webb also did a great job with dialogue. He finitely captured the emotion through speech that MLK and his wife endured during that time.
This movie was nominated for best picture and song but if should have received best actor, costume design and yes, best director.
If you have not seen Selma, they are offering free tickets in many areas.
It is a wonderful film that will get you going.
